You have being in office for one year, and in that time the whole
edifice is begining to crumble.
This chaos, the money is running out.
I should thank you.
You should perhaps be the ?pillar? boy of the euroskeptic business.
But just look around this chamber this morning.
Just look at these faces.
Look at the fear, look at the anger.
Paulo Baroso here seems he has seen a ghost.
You know, they are begining to understand that the game is out.
And yet in their desperation to preserve their dream they want to
remove any remaining traces of democracy from the system.
And it is pretty clear that none of you have learnt anything.
Look at yourself Mr. vanrumpoi say that the euro has brought
stability.
I suppose I could applaud you for having a sense of humor.
But isn’t this really just the banker mentality?
You know, your fanaticism is out in the open.
You talked about the fact that it was a lie to believe that the nation
state could exist in the XXI century globalized world.
Well, that may be true in the case of Belgium, who have not had
a government for 6 months.
But for the rest of us, right across every member state in this union.
This is what we see there in their faces.
Increasingly people are saying,
“We do not want that flag.
We do not want the anthem.
We do not want this political class.
We want the whole think consigned to the ?? of
history”
And we had a Greek tragedy earlier on this year.
And now we have the situation in Ireland.
Now, I know that the stupidity and greed of Irish politians have a
lot to do with this.
They should never, ever have joined the euro.
They suffered with low interest rates, a false boom and a massive
bust.
But look at your response to them.
What they are being told as the govenrment is collapsing is that
it would be inappropriate for them to have a general election.
If that comminision siting here say that
they have to agree on a budget first before they are allowed to have a
general election.
Just who the hell do you think you people are?
You are very, very dangerous people indeed.
Your obsession with creating this euro state
means that you are happy to destroy democracy
You appear to be happy
for millions and millions of people to be unemployed and to be poor
Untold millions will suffer so that you euro dream can continue.
Well, it won’t work.
Because it is Portugal next with their debt level of 325% of GDP.
They are the next ones on the list
and after that, I suspect, it will be Spain.
and the bailout for Spain would be seven times the size as Ireland.
and at that moment all of the bailout money has gone.
there wont; be anymore
but it is even more serious than economics
because if you rob people of their identity
if you rob people of their demotracy
then all they are left with is nationalism and violence
and I can only hope and pray that the euro project is destroyed by the
markets before that really happens. | Muy buenos días Señor Vanrumpoy: Lleva en el cargo un año y en ese tiempo todo se está viniendo abajo. Un caos, el dinero se está acabando, debería agradecérselo, quizá podría usted ser la mascota de los euro-escépticos. Pero mire a esta cámara hoy, mire estas caras, vea el miedo, la furia. Barroso parece que ha visto a un fantasma. Mire, están empezando a comprender que la fiesta se ha acabado. Y aun así en sus desesperación para mantener su sueño quieren acabar con cualquier vestigio de democracia que quede en el sistema. Y está claro que ninguno de ustedes ha aprendido nada. Usted mismo, señor vanrumpoy, diciendo que el euro nos ha traído estabilidad; Supongo que debería aplaudirle por tener sentido del humor, ¿Pero acaso no es esto más que una mentalidad de banquero? Mire, su fanatismo ha quedado al descubierto. Hablaba usted sobre el hecho de que era una mentira creer que la nación-estado podía existir en el siglo XXI en un mundo globalizado y bueno, eso puede ser cierto en el caso de Bélgica que lleva 6 meses sin gobierno…
Pero para el resto de nosotros, a través de cada estado miembro de esta unión, y quizá este es el motivo del miedo en sus caras, la gente está diciendo mayoritariamente:
“No queremos esa bandera, no queremos ese himno, no queremos esta clase política, queremos que todo esto acabe en el vertedero de la historia” Hemos tenido la tragedia griega a principios de año y ahora tenemos la situación de Irlanda. Y si, sé que la estupidez y avaricia de los políticos irlandeses tiene mucho que ver con eso, no deberían, nunca, haberse unido al euro.
Han sufrido con los bajos intereses, una burbuja y su gigantesca explosión. Pero mire la respuesta que les están dando ahora:
Lo que les están diciendo mientras que su gobierno se desmorona es que sería “inapropiado” que tuviesen elecciones generales. Lo que esta comisión les está diciendo es que deben aprobar primero los recortes antes de que se les permita tener elecciones generales. ¿Quién demonios se creen que son ustedes?, sin duda son gente muy, muy peligrosa. Su obsesión por crear este euro-estado significa que son felices destruyendo la democracia. Parece que estén felices de que millones y millones de personas estén en el paro y la pobreza, que incontables millones de personas sufran con tal de que su sueño europeo continúe. Porque será Portugal el siguiente con su nivel de deuda del 325% del PIB, son los siguientes en la lista y después será, me imagino, España.
Y el rescate para España será siete veces el tamaño del de Irlanda. Y en el momento en que ese dinero se acabe ya no nos quedará más. Pero no se trata sólo de economía, porque si le quitan a la gente su identidad, si le quitan a la gente su democracia, entonces lo único que les queda es nacionalismo y violencia. Y solo puedo esperar y desear que el proyecto europeo sea destruido por los mercados antes de que eso ocurra. |
